This political step looks symbolic taking into account the fact that 2019 in Ukraine was announced as the year of Stepan Bandera…

The leader of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists [the modern day version – ed] Nikolay Kokhanovsky will participate in the presidential elections in Ukraine as a candidate. This was reported on the website of the “OUN” movement.

The nationalists already started to form a campaign headquarters for the candidate. It is headed by one of the closest associates of Kokhanovsky — Vladislav Shevchuk.

As a reminder, presidential elections will take place in Ukraine in the spring of 2019. The electoral campaign hasn’t officially started yet, however many representatives of the establishment have either already declared their plans to propose a candidate, or have shown public interest in this.

Among those who will fight next year for the presidential chair are the acting head of state Petro Poroshenko, the constant leader of all the latest electoral approval ratings Yulia Tymoshenko, the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister from the Yanukovych era Yury Boyko, and the less popular politicians Yury Gritsenko and Vadim Rabinovich. Most likely Oleg Lyashko will also participate in the elections. In addition, there are rumors about the possible participation of representatives of show business: the actor and comedian Vladimir Zelensky and the leader of the Okean Elzy group Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
