The mother of the Hero of the DPR Mikhail Tolstykh (“Givi”), Nina, expressed her gratitude to the fighters of the Somali battalion for the fact that they continue the case of her son after his death in February, 2017. She spoke about her feelings in a conversation with the correspondent of the Donetsk News Agency on February 8th.
“The pain from the loss of my son does not cease. I come every Saturday to see him here, I light candles and I tell him everything that happened at home in our Republic. Here I talk to him as if he was alive. Honestly, I am proud to have raised such a son. Also I am proud of our ‘Somalis’ (Somali battalion soldiers), the battalion lives and continues Misha’s case”noted Tolstykh
She also expressed gratitude to the inhabitants of the Republic for the fact that they honour Mikhail’s feats.
Earlier on February 8th a memorial service on the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of the DPR Hero and commander of the Somali battalion Mikhail Tolstykh, took place in Donetsk. The event took place on the territory of the capital’s cemetery “Donetsk Sea”, where the grave of the legendary battalion commander lies. He was visited by over 2000 residents of the DPR, including the Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin.
