In Kiev the head of RIA Novosti Ukraine Kirill Vyshinsky was detained. This was reported by his colleagues. According to them, it happened on the street near his house.

At the same time “UNN”, referring to an informed source, noted that Kirill Vyshinsky was detained on essential elements of an offense provided by Article 111 (High treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Also, the source noted that the apartment of the detainee was searched.

In addition, the staff of the SBU rushed into the office of RIA Novosti Ukraine in Kiev.

“In the morning the office was visited by people in uniform with ‘SBU’ inscriptions. Eyewitnesses saw how people with a jack entered the building where the office of the agency is located. After this contact was lost with the journalist who was inside,” wrote RIA Novosti.

The SBU said that investigative actions are being carried out concerning the “media structures under the control of the Russian Federation”. According to the press secretary of the SBU Elena Gitlyanskaya, “law enforcement bodies established that they were used by the aggressor country within the framework of hybrid information war against Ukraine”.

The CEO of MIA Russia Today Dmitry Kiselyov urged the Ukrainian authorities to release Vyshinsky immediately. It should be noted that Vyshinsky was included in the “Purgatory” section of the “Mitrotvorets” website for anti-Ukrainian propaganda since 2014.
