On Monday, December 3rd, searches began in Zhytomyr in the Svyato-Krestovozdvizhensky cathedral of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) and in the house of the prior of this temple Father Sergey.
It isn’t known what law enforcement bodies are searching for in the temple and in the priest’s house. Searches were carried out at 10 addresses.
Father Sergey told the “SPZH” website that the investigator and representatives of the police were looking for printed materials and other data carriers in his apartment that can “ignite inter-religious strife”. Law enforcement bodies told the clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church that he is connected to the case as a witness.
They confiscated the priest’s computer, two phones, and a notebook.
