The Kiev Armed Forces opened fire from an anti-tank missile system and destroyed an ambulance of the People’s militia of the LPR. Three persons received severe wounds. This was reported by the press service of the Defense Ministry of the Republic.
“Having once again violated the ‘easter truce‘ declared on March 30th, the Ukrainian Armed Forces committed an unprecedented provocation at the contact line. Today, on April 1st, at 09:20 near the settlement Nizhneye Lozovoye the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired an ATGM (anti-tank guided missile) and destroyed an Ural truck evacuating wounded serviceman of the People’s militia of the LPR for healthcare purposes,” it is said in the statement.
“As a result of a direct hit two servicemen participating in the evacuation and a patient were severely wounded, the vehicle was completely torched. At the moment the state of health of all three victims is evaluated as critical,” noted the People’s militia.
“We want to stress that this incident occurred in an open area, and the Ukrainian military personnel couldn’t not see the symbols on the vehicle indicating its use for humanitarian purposes,” added the Defense Ministry of LPR.
“We consider the shooting of a medical vehicle during the declared ‘easter truce’ to be a war crime committed by Ukrainian military personnel, and yet another provocation. We call on all international organisations to give an assessment of such actions committed by the Ukrainian side and we hope that this fact will be considered at the next meeting of the tripartite contact group in Minsk that will take place on April 4th, and that the persons who are guilty for this will be punished,” emphasised the People’s militia.
Earlier the Contact group supported the proposal of the leaders of the LPR and DPR for the introduction of a complete ceasefire regime from 00:00 on March 30th on the eve of the Easter holiday – holy for all Christians. The people’s militia of the LPR had hoped that Kiev’s troops would also observe the “Easter ceasefire”.
