For the purpose of hiding forbidden arms from representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM), military personnel of the UAF that are in the area of Zolotoye opened fire at observers via a grenade launcher. This was reported by the press service of the people’s militia of the LPR.

The department noted that the UAF command continues to bring weapons to the contact line and to hide them from the staff of the OSCE Mission.

“The latest case happened on May 20th when employees of the Mission drove up to an outpost near the disengagement zone near the settlement Zolotoye, where the military personnel of the 14th separate mechanised brigade of the UAF opened fire from a grenade launcher for the purpose of concealing the forbidden arms that are in the specified area,” reported the people’s militia.

“All assurances of the commander of the ‘OUF’ [Operation of United Forces – ed] – General (Sergey) Nayev – that he allegedly instructed the commanders of units and soldiers not to interfere in the work of the OSCE mission’s employees – were more lies,” emphasised the Defense Ministry of the Republic.
