The command of the DPR accused the Ukrainian military of shelling the territory of the DPR whilst hiding behind the staff of international organisations. This was stated by the chief of the press service of the operative command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov on August 25th.
“The latest fact of shelling whilst hiding behind unarmed people was demonstrated by the 28th mechanised brigade,” said Bezsonov.
He gave incidents near Krasnogorovka and Staromikhailovka the day before as examples. A silence regime was coordinated there for August 24th-25th in connection with the work of employees of the foreign organisation “Halo Trust” on the Ukrainian side, who were carrying out mine clearing work in the area.
“We clearly observed the stated arrangements, however the UAF used it <…> and opened fire with a BMP at the settlement of Staromikhailovka,” said the chief of the press service.
The representative of the command appealed to international observers with a demand to record the fact of shelling by the Ukrainian troops while ‘Halo Trust’ are working, and to take the most rigid measures in respect of the violators.
“We don’t exclude that today militants from the 36th UAF brigade, who use as cover the work of the 501st battalion of marines of volunteers from the Czech organisation ‘People in need’ in their zone of responsibility, can behave like this and will shell Sakhanka and Kominternovo,” summarised Bezsonov.
