The US State Department Suddenly Started to Visit and Take an Interest in Ukrainian Lavras

On October 21st, the Svyato-Uspensky Svyatogorsky Lavra was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US in Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, the Counselor for Political Affairs of the US Embassy David Holmes, and the regional coordinator of US State Department Regional Coordinator of the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration Jonathan Hayes.

As was noted on the website of the Lavra, the prior of the monastery Metropolitan of Svyatogorsk Arseny welcomed the guests in the yard of monastery and conducted a short tour.

Also, Metropolitan Arseny described to the head of the American diplomatic mission in Ukraine how many refugees were taken by monastery during the duration of the war in Donbass, what help it has rendered and continues to render, and reported how many IDPs currently live in Svyatogorsky Lavra.
