Two Women Killed, Three More People Injured During Ukraine’s Shelling of Stakhanov

NEW – June 9, 2022

Kiev security forces destroyed the “Victory” stadium in Stakhanov by shelling. This was reported by the expert of the LPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC) Aleksey Getmansky.

The LPR reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at Stakhanov at 5 a.m. using “Uragan” MLRS. At least 16 shells were fired.

“As a result of the shelling of the settlement, several private housing buildings were destroyed and damaged, and the stadium was also destroyed. And there were a lot of hits on the streets, namely the city centre”.

Two women were killed (born in 1952 and born in 1959, respectively), three more people were injured, according to the head of the city administration Sergey Zhevlakov.

“As a result of the shelling, two women were killed, three civilians were injured, social facilities and civilian facilities were damaged. Social facilities are a technical school, a dormitory where displaced people are staying, a medical school, a pedagogical school, other buildings and structures that are state–owned, as well as dozens of houses in the private and multi-apartment sector have suffered. There are also direct hits to houses, roofs are destroyed, houses are destroyed.”

He clarified that specialists are currently sorting through the rubble.

“The more victims they (Kiev security forces) have, the better, maybe they have some kind of atrocities of their own or they are not Orthodox. Apparently they want more destruction, more lives to take while retreating, so that people do not live here, do not stay, the infrastructure is all fragmented, it is possible to intimidate. We are frightened people, we have been living here since 2014 and have not left anywhere,” said Elena Litvinova, a resident of one of the destroyed multi-storey buildings, according to the Lugansk Information Centre.
