As a result of UAF shelling, firefighters came under fire when they were extinguishing a fire in the settlement of Trudovskoye.

“The head of the guard of the third fire-rescue unit died from shrapnel wounds, two firefighter-rescuers of the third unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were wounded. The projectile came from an automatic grenade launcher,” noted the department.

“A call arrived at approximately 14:20 that a house on 115 Zeleny Gay Street is on fire. The unit that arrived started extinguishment, and during extinguishment there was shelling, presumably from an automatic grenade launcher. The head of the guard of the third fire-rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR died from shrapnel wounds, and two more rescuers are wounded,” said Kopeyko A.V.

“When we arrived we heard that something exploded, but we didn’t pay attention to it. We had already almost extinguished it. Then we saw the shrapnel around the house – we were on its roof. When there was an explosion we were just at a distance of two steps from each other. It landed very quickly.”
