After the Kiev regime started to jam unsuitable TV channels on the territory of Donbass controlled by the UAF, the local population started to buy up satellite antennas. This was written by
the Kiev-based “Novoye Vremya” magazine, describing the trip of the vice-speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Irina Gerashenko to the part of Donbass controlled by the UAF.

While she was there she communicated with developers of Ukrainian “jammers” under the name “Serpanok”, which are designed to fight against broadcasts from the republics of Donbass.

“For frontline Avdeevka there is a very hot topic: radio stations of the so-called DPR and TV channels of separatists are still freely available in the city. Serpanok is a complex of equipment and software that worsens the quality of digital and analog broadcasting to such an extent that it can’t almost be perceived.

The project was started in the East in the spring of this year, one of its developers tells Gerashchenko. And he immediately noted that after it was launched the local population started to actively buy satellite antennas en masse in order to watch news from that side and also the Russian TV channels that are habitual here,” wrote the publication.
