In Ukraine When Applying for a Civil Service Job the Applicant Must Talk About Bandera and Sing the UPA Song

The head of the Main Territorial Department of Justice in the Lvov region Yaroslav Zhukrovsky during interviews asks potential employees for the words of the anthem of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) “Cartridge after cartridge” and also the date of birth of Stepan Bandera.

“During the interview the majority don’t sing it (the song), but speak it. Why do I do it like this? Because the public servant of a new format must know not only laws, but also to be a patriot,” noted Zhukrovsky in an interview to the “Vysoky Zamok” publication. “Besides this song, I ask at interviews when Stepan Bandera was born, and when the first Constitution of Pylyp Orlik was adopted”.
