Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland on the celebration of the second anniversary of a joint military brigade assigned it the name of the hetman Konstantin Ostrozhsky.

This was said in the statement of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

On October 5th, in Lublin (Poland) the Minister of Defence of the Ukrainian State Stepan Poltorak, together with Ministers of Defence of Poland and Lithuania, participated in festive events on the occasion of the second anniversary since the date of creation of the joint Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade.

Ministers of Defence participated in an official ceremony on the occasion of the assigning the multi-national brigade the name of a patron Saint — the hetman Konstantin Ostrozhsky.

“The historicity of today’s event is that our multi-national brigade received important symbols of a military formation — a battle flag and an honourable name … The historicity of this moment is that this brigade was created not for the sake of aggression, but for the sake of peace,” said Poltorak.

According to him, next year the brigade will start to participate in NATO exercises.

In an interview to “Russian Spring” the known politician and Deputy of the last legitimate Verkhovna Rada Oleg Tsarev spoke about creation of a joint military Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian unit one year prior to its actual birth.

According to him, the quelling of internal disorder in Ukraine will become the head of the brigade’s task, and its international status will allow to legalize the use of mercenaries indifferent in relation to the fate of the local population.
