Translated by Ollie Richardson & Angelina Siard

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland, speaking in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, didn’t mention “Russian aggression” among the problems on space of the Council of Europe.

This was reported by the Ukrainian media.

Jagland addressed deputies with a traditional speech at the beginning of the session, having listed key problems on the agenda.

Among such problems he named propaganda and fake news, including influence on elections; strengthening of populists in Europe; threats from populists; migratory crisis; crisis in Turkey; problem of spreading terrorism.

In his speech, which lasted more than half an hour, he never mentioned once the mythical “Russian aggression” against Ukraine and never used the word “Russia”.
