The Berdichevsky court found the journalist Dmitry Vasilets and Evgeny Timonin guilty. This was reported by the correspondent of “Strana” from the courtroom.
Both were given 9 years of imprisonment. The time that Vasilets and Timonin had already spent in the pre-trial detention center – since 2015 – was taken into consideration.
The sentence was read in the absence of the defendants. Vasilets was forced out of the conference hall by order of the judge – the defendant begun to criticize the court for the made decision. Evgeny Timonin himself left the hall. Both Vasilets and his colleague Timonin will appeal the decision of the court.
