The non-factional deputy Anna Gopko said in parliament that Odessa feels nostalgic about the disintegration of the Soviet Union.

“The Odessa region has one of the lowest levels of support for the European Euro-Atlantic course of Ukraine. 52% of residents of the Odessa region feel nostalgic about the disintegration of the Soviet Union,” said the People’s Deputy, sharing her impressions after visiting Odessa.

Gopko blamed “pro-Russia” media for this, and also said that the most Odessa parliamentarians are supporters of the Russian world.

“The issue of the national security of the Kherson and Odessa regions, as well as the South of Ukraine – which is extremely sensitive, demands additional efforts. In particular, the National Security and Defense Council, according to the difficult situation and public moods,” noted the politician.

At the end she once again urged parliament to vote for the Metre Convention.
