Ukrainian Deputy Ilya Kiva Proposed to Rename Bandera Avenue in Kiev in Honour of George Floyd

Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the “Opposition Platform – For Life” faction Ilya Kiva proposed to rename Kiev’s Bandera Avenue (formerly Moscow Avenue) in honour of the murdered African-American George Floyd. The people’s deputy wrote about this on June 8th on his Telegram channel.

“As a People’s Deputy of Ukraine, I propose to declare a week of mourning and rename Stepan Bandera Avenue in Kiev as Floyd Avenue!” the message reads.

According to Kiva, a “revolution of dignity” started in the US after Floyd’s death.

“I ask you to consider including Floyd in the lists of the Heavenly Hundred as someone who started a ‘revolution of dignity’ in the United States of America!” he added.
