The First Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashenko spoke about when the greeting “Glory to Ukraine” will be introduced in the Ukrainian army. She wrote this on her Facebook page on September 4th. According to her, this week the Ukrainian Parliament will consider Petro Poroshenko’s draft law that approves this slogan as an official military greeting instead of Soviet “I wish you health” and “Hello, comrades”.
“Most likely, on September 6th the Verkhovna Rada will make changes to the charter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and these words will become an official military greeting,” wrote Irina Gerashenko.
She also added that recently she started to use this greeting when answering phone calls. However, citizens are strongly afraid of it and hang up without any explanation.
