Ukrainian Nationalists Chased Down the Prosecutor General’s Car in an Attempt to Disrupt the Buzina Trial

Translated by Ollie Richardson

Ukrainian nationalists blocked the route of the motorcade of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko with the poster “Trial Villains, Not Heroes”
Thus, the right-wing radicals expressed a protest against the trial of suspects in the murder of the Kiev writer and journalist Oles Buzina.

The video showing the attack on the car of Lutsenko was published on the Facebook page of the Nazi C14 group.

“Nationalists have just stopped the Prosecutor General’s motorcade. They wanted to communicate about the conscious trial of the war heroes Medvedko and Polishchuk. But Lutsenko, under guard, fled from dialogue with the people. Now we go to the Prosecutor-General’s Office for one more meeting,” commented the Nazis.

One of the defendants in the murder of Buzina Andrey Medvedko on his Facebook page expressed his gratitude to the radicals.

“It was the reaction of nationalists concerning the actions of the prosecutor’s office vis-a-vis Buzina. When the motive for the crime is called participation in a voluntary movement and nationalism – volunteers and nationalists rise. Because they understand that today they came for us, and tomorrow for them. I am not involved in the planning or carrying out of this action, but I thank everyone who wasn’t too lazy and left so early for Kiev. This is also democracy, it is also legal aid. This is the start of repression? Every action causes a reaction,” wrote Medvedko.
