In the afternoon of September 28th radicals from “Right Sector” occupied the temple of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in the Ivano-Frankovsk region, and at the same time several parishioners were seriously injured. “Today, on September 28th at around 13:00 right-wing radicals from ‘Right Sector’ in the settlement of Bogorodchany in the Ivano-Frankovsk region occupied the Svyato-Troitsky temple of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. They broke open the doors, smashed the windows, and beat up believers. One man received a concussion, another received a broken hand, and the prior of the temple archpriest Vladimir Shuvar was injured by the hands of the aggressors,” it is noted in the message.
According to an eyewitnesses, the radicals were able to enter the temple through the courtyard. Then they fought with the parishioners who were inside, thus several people received serious injuries.
“Having expelled the parishioners, the raiders changed locks. Currently the situation remains intense,” it is noted in the message.
Earlier the deputy of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Metropolitan of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl Pavel reported about the threats made by radicals to occupy the monastery and stage provocations concerning other temples and monasteries of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
