Igor Kolomoisky, in the second part of his interview with the journalist Sonya Koshkina on her YouTube channel, answered the question of how to return Donbass to Ukraine. His answer can be understood as a recommendation to start negotiations with representatives of the Donbass republics.

“How to return Donbass? There is a need to reach an agreement with them, with those who are there, about something,” said Kolomoisky.

At the same time, the businessman considers that Ukraine nevertheless will restore its control over Donbass in the nearest future, unlike Crimea. “Ukraine should return Donbass in the foreseeable, near future. Concerning Crimea it will be difficult, but also eventually…,” said Kolomoisky, failing to fully finish his sentence about Crimea because Koshkina interrupted him with a clarifying question about Donbass.

In addition, Kolomoisky does not consider that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin leads the “separatists”.

“And what about Putin? In the question of Donbass everything depends on us. We are at war with ourselves,” said the businessman.

He considers that talk about Putin sitting down and ordering everything is ridiculous.

“I know the situation from within, there isn’t any Putin. For Putin it is an unnecessary burden. It would be more favourable for him to integrate Donbass back into Ukraine and to destroy Ukraine from within. So Donbass does not bring him any joy, only haemorrhoids,” said Kolomoisky.
