The director of Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Vladimir Vyatrovich stated on his Facebook page that the “Hero of Ukraine” state award has been compromised by “senseless awarding”.
“It isn’t necessary to demand to give Stepan Bandera the title of Hero. It’s not because he is unworthy of being called a hero. This title has been compromised by senseless awarding and is unworthy of being considered as the highest state award and a marker of a national hero, which Bandera deserves”wrote Vyatrovich on his Facebook page.
He considers that in Ukraine it is necessary to create an award of Bandera.
“The best way to mark the name of Bandera will be not giving him the partially compromised title of ‘Hero of Ukraine’, but to create an award of Bandera for those who now defend our independence”noted Vyatrovich.
