Ukrainian Terrorist Oleg Sentsov Spoke About the “Enemies of Ukraine”

The Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who returned home within the framework of a prisoner exchange between Moscow and Kiev, said that “there is still a long way to go to victory”.

“There is a wish to say many thanks to all those people who all these years helped us, our families. <…> I hope that other prisoners will be released soon. But even with the release of the last prisoner, our fight doesn’t come to an end. <…> The enemy is strong and isn’t going to give up. But victory all the same will be on our side, we have no other choice,” said Sentsov.

A prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine took place earlier on September 7th. A plane of the special air squadron of Russia with Russians onboard landed in Moscow. Approximately at the same time at Boryspol International Airport a plane with Ukrainian prisoners landed. The exchange took place with the formula “35 for 35”.

In 2015 Oleg Sentsov was found guilty of creating a terrorist community and other crimes. He didn’t admit his guilt and did a hunger strike, demanding to release all Ukrainian prisoners in Russia. At the end of August 2019 it was reported that Sentsov had been brought from the colony in the city of Labytnangi to one of the pre-trial detention centers of Moscow within the framework of preparation for a prisoner exchange with Ukraine.
