US Gave to Ukraine Radio Communication Devices Worth $21 Million

The US Department of Defense transferred to the Ukrainian border guards the means of a military radio communication worth $21 million (more than 500 million hryvnias). This was reported by the State border service.

In total, the Ukrainian side was given 569 units of various types from the Harris company.

“Radio stations, including stationary, automobile, backpack and portable, will be installed on maritime security boats, technical observation posts located in the state border protection units in the ATO zone and they will also be provided to mobile units,” it is stated in the message.

It is claimed that these radio stations will allow the organization of secure communication between units of State border service, and to interact with the UAF and the National Guard. The equipment provides reliable communication even in conditions of the use by the enemy of electronic warfare.

Attending the ceremony of the transfer of means of military radio communication were the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the US Ambassador in Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, and the leadership of the State border service.
