The special representative of the US State Department to Ukraine Kurt Volker intends to meet the Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov in October again to agree about a visit to the territory of the LDPR. Volker stated this on September 16th in Kiev at the Yalta European Strategy conference.
“I visited the conflict line in Avdeevka. I also went to Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk. I hope that I will visit the cities on the side that is controlled by Ukraine. As for the other side of the demarcation line, there is a need to negotiate with those people. That’s why I met Mr Surkov. In October I will meet him again. I hope that I will be in the occupied territory, and Ukrainian sovereignty over these territories will be sometime restored,” said Volker.
At the same time he categorically refused to meet the leaders of the Republics of Donbass, reports the correspondent of Politnavigator.
The conflict in eastern Ukraine is not an indigenous uprising; it’s an externally driven conflict & Russia is responsible #YesUkraine2017

“It is not an indigenous uprising of an ethnic segment and not a civil war. There is an external force there, which uses the local population as cover. They just want us to enter into negotiations with people who decide nothing. This exempts Russia from any liability. But we need strategic decisions,” said Volker.
