The situation in which Ukraine has no fleet, but tries to create a certain military base in the Sea of Azov, is phenomenal, stated the military observer of Komsomolskaya Pravda Viktor Baranets in a conversation with REN-TV. This is how he commented on information that two Ukrainian ships were sent to the port of Berdyansk.

According to the expert, Ukraine has no fleet in its serious understanding. “At a big stretch it is possible to count 11 combat ships there, which aren’t even ready for combat. But with the help of the US and NATO, Ukraine tries to create real bases, although, again, it has no money,” explained Baranets.

He considers that in this situation Ukraine has no desire to strengthen its military positions, although this indeed corresponds to the doctrine of NATO and the US. Baranets emphasized that Ukrainian ships entered an exclusive economic zone of Russia, but they aren’t forbidden to be there.

“The most important thing is that these boys behaved well. And our ships will observe them. It is just time to get used to this being a new phenomenon in the present conditions,” specified the observer. Baranets specified that the ambitious statements of the leadership of the country about the creation of certain bases need to be “divided on 100”. “But such gestures shouldn’t go unnoticed. It should be noted and adequately reacted to,” concluded the expert.
