Ukraine will never accept “the fact of the occupation of the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov”. This was said on the air of the “ICTV” TV channel by the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.

According to Poroshenko, Kiev will send its ships to the Kerch Strait again, demanding its use “according to bilateral agreements and the convention of the UN on freedom of navigation”.

“I will not tell you when, because it will be only volunteers who will go there. I don’t rule out that there will be journalists and OSCE experts there … We will definitely go there, we will definitely defend the freedom of navigation”

said the president of Ukraine on the air of the “Freedom of Speech” talk show

The Ukrainian political scientist Vyacheslav Kovtun said that these words of Poroshenko are “absolutely correct”.

“If there are foreign journalists on these ships, I will look to see how the Russian border guards will behave,” noted Kovtun on the air of the “Time Will Tell” program on Channel 1. “Let’s see if the Russian impudence is enough to attack ships with international journalists onboard. It is sure that these ships will not be attacked. Let’s see your courage”.

The defender of Kiev on Russian television said that Kiev thus protests against the Sea of Azov being turned into the internal lake of Russia.

“Ukraine is a marker of the aggressive policy of Russia”

noted Kovtun

After this Vladimir Kornilov, the Donetsk political scientist and observer of MIA “Rossiya Segodnya”, was interested in whether or not his colleague from Ukraine will go to the ship if called upon.

“If the motherland calls,” said Kovtun to Kornilov, with less vigour. “I am ready to be on this ship if it goes”.

Vladimir Kornilov

Vladimir Kornilov offered a reminder about the fact that Kiev announced a new provocation in the Kerch Strait long ago and plans to do it during elections.

“But let you first practice with a NATO member state. Now, because of the weather conditions in the Bosphorus and Dardanelles, the queue of ships is 15-16 days. Bring together volunteers led by Kovtun and transit, without warning. Let’s see what the Turkish coast guard will do with you”

said the political scientist

Kornilov reminded Ukrainians that it is possible to pass through the Kerch Strait without any provocations by submitting a request for passage for two days. In this case Russia will provide even pilot support.
