The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Aleksandr Zakharchenko thanked the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for the decision on the recognition of documents of Donbass residents.

“I want to once again express my gratitude and appreciation to Russia, to the Russian people, and their President, and at the same time I want to bow deeply to my fellow countrymen for their courage, firmness, diligence, and patriotism,” quotes RIA Novosti from the words of Zakharchenko.

In his opinion, this decree proves that Russia supports the right of compatriots to fight for their life, culture, language, honor, and dignity.

“If the Motherland loudly and boldly supports our fight, it means that our struggle is just. It means that our sacrifices aren’t in vain. It means our hopes are justified,” noted the head of the DPR.

The leader of the LPR Igor Plotnitsky, in turn, called the decree on the recognition of documents of Donbass residents by Russia fateful.

Earlier, the president of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the recognition of documents of the citizens of Ukraine living in Donbass.
